When creating a brand, it’s important to make the styles versatile enough to apply to different canvases, in a cohesive fashion. To practice this, I created a stationary system for my own brand, which I can apply to future use.
Create a functional 4-piece stationary system consisting of a 8.5”x11” letterhead, 9.5”x4.125” envelope, a 3.5”x2” business card, and a 3”x3” sticky note pad.
Before starting on my design, I did some researched a compiled three images I wanted to base my design off of.
From this research, I wanted to reflect the simplicity of the designs and the use of background motifs and color blocking to create depth, while not taking away from the page’s content.
I kept my letterhead template very simple, to avoid diverting too much attention away from the body text. My logo at the top left draws in the eye and lets the reader immediately know who the letter was from. The footer section also has important information, giving the reader more options to contact me back.
My envelope and business card contain minimal information, for privacy, along with my brand’s logo and script motif, for distinguishability.
In the making of this stationary system, I learned to avoid any unnecessary graphics that may add too much noise. In this case, my brand’s graphics needed to be minimal and quiet, to convey information needed for mailing and reading.
